ABOUT US
Dog Central is designed with your dogs safety and pleasure in mind. We are an indoor facility that provides quality, cage-free day care for your pooch. A place where your dog can play and learn with other canine friends rather than be left alone at home. Not only does this enhance your pets quality of life, it protects your home from ‘lonely dog syndrome,’ otherwise known as ‘tearing the place up!’ You can go about your day knowing that your dog is in the best of care.
Whether your pooch needs to burn off some energy, or just be cuddled, our friendly staff is here to serve!
Dog Central will soon have web-cams so you can view your pooch from any computer. You will see for yourself how your dog is being loved and cared for. It will also give you the opportunity to show off your loved one to your friends, family and co-workers!
Dog Central is fully licensed and has an Allegheny County kennel permit. Our building has all the comforts of home, including heating and air conditioning. We offer a safe, clean environment with filtered air and water and lots of room for your pets to play with their new friends. Not only is our staff trained to play with your pet and keep their areas clean, but they also continually monitor the safety and behavior of all dogs.
Our grooming department is now open under new management! Our nationally certified groomer can answer your questions and pamper your pet with quality grooming treatments including baths, nail clippings, pedicures, brush-outs and much more.
STAFF
Mike Stayert - Owner / Manager / Pack Leader
Mike was born and raised in Hampton township where his family has lived for more than 50 years. In addition to three sisters and two brothers, there was always a dog at the family house as well as various other animals ranging from pet mice to peacocks.
Mike worked in the cable industry for years but never lost sight of his dream to work with animals as a career. Guided by his love for dogs, he hoped to open a kennel on his parents seven acres of property but found that the zoning would not permit that. Mike then found the perfect location in Hampton and spent months remodeling the 4000 sq. ft. facility to match the specifications of the Doggie View Training School in Missouri that he attended. The result is a wonderful place for dogs to play, rest, and get lots of attention while their owners are away for the day.
